WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY

  • 274 Crawford Street Queanbeyan, NSW, 2620 Australia (map)

On Monday 5 June from 5pm we will join other community groups at an event planned by QPRC at The Hive, Crawford Street, Queanbeyan. The theme in 2023 is Solutions to Plastic Pollution.

Help us make this stall interesting and informative:

  • Collect (for display on the night) the main plastic offenders impacting Platypus and Rakali in the region ie. fishing tackle, milk bottle rings, ‘O’ rings (from taps) and hair bands/hair ties. Record where the items are found, and take photos.

• Create a display of plastic bottles of varying sizes being used to propagate/protect plants. Show how plastic can be re-invented after its initial use, ideally something that can be replicated at home.  Google has lots of ideas about ways old plastic bottles can be used in various ways in the garden.

• Collect lids for Lids4kids

• Join us on the night or contact us via secretary@queanbeyanlandcare.org.au with suggestions. All help is appreciated.

There will also be information about the activities our group is involved with and a few plants to give away.
We look forward to seeing you there.
